I first came to see the chiropractor in the middle of a deep, suicidal depression. I was, admittedly, nervous about the experience. I had never seen a chiropractor before and was doubtful that he could help me. But I was willing to try any alternative to medication, especially after reading a list of side effects for the typical drugs a psychiatrist might prescribe; I was petrified. Even if the drugs would have helped me, I didn't want to put something like that into my body.
After my first adjustment, I was convinced I was going to die. I felt horrible, but I was assured this was normal and that I needed to drink a lot of water. I did so. Five hours after my first adjustment, my depression had lifted. As of today, the depression, which I had been battling for six years, has never come back. I will admit to set backs, but they are infrequent, and an adjustment clears them up instantly.
My whole attitude on life has changed since I have been receiving chiropractic care. I feel good again. I love to live! Suddenly, I care about how I look. I have passions and am willing to express them again. I wake up every morning glad to be alive.
Since I started my treatments, other positive changes have happened in my life. I have bad asthma, which has been eased. I used to have stomach and intestinal distress, which, since I started care, is virtually gone.
I can not thank my chiropractor enough for making my life livable again. I am a 20 year old student. Before these treatments began, I had no zeal for life. Now, I am excited to be a student and am making plans for my future.
I will admit that I was skeptical that a chiropractor could help depression, but after my results, I am a believer in the power of chiropractic care.
